This week, I wrote about being prepared as a hostess. Then, after the humbling experience of running out of propane, I wrote about being flexible– another
important quality for a host. Today, I’m just going to share with you the most important quality… humor.
While I do have a gorgeous recipe post all lined up for you, what I don’t have is power. On my drive home which took more than four hours today- a day that started at 4:30 am– I noticed that the power was out in the next town over. In our little downtown there were no twinkling Christmas lights. No signs of life.
I came home to a dark dark house. But there at the gate was my husband lighting my way with a flashlight. A room full of candles and a fire put a smile on my face.
When I said “well I guess there’s no NaBloPoMo tonight.” He replied “what, you’ve got a phone.”
So here it is. My post and my daily gratitude:
Flashlights
Candles
And the husband who lights my way

This might be my favorite NaBloPoMo post this year!
